Direct Air Service Between the Capitals of Kazakhstan and Thailand to Launch

30/09/2026

Work is continuing to expand Kazakhstan’s international route network and increase the number of flights on existing routes.

Starting from 11 December 2026, Air Astana plans to launch direct flights between Astana and Bangkok, Thailand. The flights will operate twice a week using Airbus A321LR aircraft.

Following the launch of the new route, the total number of flights between Kazakhstan and Thailand will increase to 20 per week across four routes.

For reference:

Currently, flights to Thailand operate on the following routes:

Almaty – Phuket: 7 flights per week (Air Astana);

Almaty – Bangkok: 9 flights per week (Air Astana – 6; Thai AirAsia X – 3);

Shymkent – Bangkok: 2 flights per week (SCAT).

The new route connecting the capitals of the two countries will expand opportunities for tourism and business travel and contribute to further strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and Thailand.
