A meeting was held between Vice-Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev and His Excellency Mr. Hamza Al-Omari, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Kazakhstan.
Earlier, following President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in February of this year, the Jordanian side expressed its intention to commence flights to Kazakhstan.
In this regard, during the meeting the parties considered the possibility of signing an Air Services Agreement and discussed the opening of direct flights between the two countries. Mr. Al-Omari also informed the Kazakh side of Royal Jordanian Airlines’ plans to operate two weekly direct services to Kazakhstan from June 2026. The Kazakh side, in turn, confirmed its readiness to provide the necessary assistance in opening these flights under the existing agreements.
The parties also agreed on a timeline for signing a Mutual Recognition Agreement on Diplomas of Crew Members of Sea Vessels between the two countries.
