Current aviation safety issues discussed at the meeting in Serbia

The tenth meeting of the ICAO Regional Expert Safety Group, held jointly with the Regional Aviation Safety Plan Working Group, took place in Belgrade, Serbia. The event brought together experts from 23 countries, including representatives of international and regional organizations such as Eurocontrol, CANSO, OEMs, IFALPA, ENCASIA, and the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC). Kazakhstan was represented by specialists from the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan.

 

The meeting reviewed the outcomes of the ICAO Workshop on Regional Safety Information-Sharing Mechanisms. The main objective of the workshop was to agree on practical steps for establishing arrangements for safety information exchange and analysis across the entire ICAO European Region, with the goal of strengthening collaborative efforts to enhance aviation safety throughout the region.

 

During the meeting of the Regional Aviation Safety Group, several key issues were discussed, including the proposal for EUR RASP 2026–2028 Volume I, the results of the review of prolonged accident investigations, the proposal for further actions regarding EUR RASP 2026–2028 Volume II, the outcomes of the 42nd ICAO Assembly, updates on the EPAS 2026 programme, updates on the ECCAIRS2 (E2) programme, and other aviation safety matters.
