On Cooperation with the United Kingdom’s aviation authorities

On the sidelines of the 42nd Session of the ICAO Assembly, Chair of the Civil aviation aommittee of the Ministry of transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saltanat Tompiyeva, held a meeting with the Head of the UK Delegation and Director General of the UK Civil aviation authority (CAA UK), Rannia Leontaridi.

The parties discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation, including increasing the frequency of flights between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom using the fifth freedom of the air.

It was noted that Kazakhstan complies with 82% of ICAO safety standards and 83% of aviation security standards.

Eighteen airports in Kazakhstan have international status, all of which operate under an "open skies" regime and offer fifth freedom traffic rights.

Saltanat Tompiyeva emphasized that Kazakhstan highly values its partnership with the United Kingdom and is open to new joint initiatives in the field of civil aviation.
