During a working visit to China, Saltanat Tompiyeva, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with Mr. Shen Bo, President of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).
During the meeting, the head of COMAC provided an overview of the corporation’s operations, key development areas, and prospects for promoting Chinese aviation technology in the international market. He noted that COMAC aircraft are currently in operation in Laos, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Furthermore, efforts are underway to certify the aircraft and prepare for their introduction into service in several other countries, including Brunei, Cambodia, Mongolia, and the Republic of the Congo.

C909: A regional jet with a capacity of up to 90 passengers and a flight range of up to 3,700 km.
C919: A narrow-body, medium-haul aircraft with a capacity of up to 192 passengers and a flight range of up to 5,555 km.
The corporation is also implementing a program to develop the C929 wide-body, long-haul aircraft.
The parties discussed prospective areas for cooperation between Kazakhstan and COMAC, including the development of route networks and collaboration in the operation and promotion of modern aviation technologies.
Mr. Shen Bo emphasized that increasing the number of flights between Kazakhstan and China, opening new destinations, and developing inter-regional air connectivity will contribute to the further strengthening of this cooperation.
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing the partnership and agreed to continue engagement on expanding cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
