As part of the 42nd session of the ICAO Assembly, the head of the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport, Saltanat Tompieva, held a meeting with the head of the delegation of the State of Qatar, President of the Civil Aviation Authority of the State of Qatar, Mr. Mohamed Faleh Al-Hajri.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of civil aviation. Both sides expressed interest in enhancing collaboration in flight safety, aviation security, personnel training, and increasing the number of direct flights between the two countries.

S. Tompieva noted during the meeting:
"An expanded legal framework has enabled stronger cooperation between our countries. As a result, Qatar Airways has nearly doubled the number of flights to Almaty, providing passengers from Kazakhstan with the opportunity to travel around the world via Doha and the airline’s network. We are confident that the launch of flights to Astana will further strengthen cooperation between our countries and benefit Qatar Airways."

The meeting also addressed cooperation in the field of aviation training and education. Special attention was given to the training of air traffic controllers and the development of qualified professionals in this area.

The meeting between the heads of the aviation authorities of the two countries took place on the sidelines of the 42nd Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly, held in Montreal, Canada.
