Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan participates in 2022 ACI AFRICA / WORLD ANNUAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Airports Council International (ACI) is the organization, which represents the collective interests of airports around the world to promote excellence in the aviation industry. ACI works closely with governments, regional ACI members, experts, and international organizations like ICAO to develop policies, programs, and best practices that advance airport standards globally. ACI has 717 members, 1950 airports from 185 countries. Kazakhstan is the participant of ACI Europe regional office.

The 2022 ACI Africa / World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition (WAGA 2022) is the most important global gathering of airport and civil aviation authorities’ leaders. The 68th ACI Africa Board and Committee Meetings, Conference and Exhibition will take place at Marrakesh, Morocco from 22 to 28 October. It is the first participation of Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan in this event.


The agenda of Assembly includes the actual issues the world’s aviation is faced. Representatives of international airports gathered together to highlight ambitious goals and share ideas to solve the problems, such as environmental protection and economic sustainability, discuss concepts of agile management within airport organizations and their ecosystem to strengthen airport performance.
Director General of Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan Catalin Radu was invited by ACI to speak in front of over 700 delegates – including senior executives of airport industry, regulators, and other influential industry stakeholders from all over the world. On October 25th, 2022 Catalin Radu joined the “Valuing airport infrastructure for an economically sustainable and resilient future” session as a panelist.


The exhibition was opened in the evening of Sunday 23 October 2022. World’s leading airports gathered in Marrakesh to use the opportunity to meet existing and potential customers and introduce the airport development of their countries. Among airports, in exhibition participate important organizations of civil aviation, such as ICAO, ACI, IATA, AFCAC, ACAO, etc.
The Almaty International airport as part of TAV airports group takes part on the exhibition. TAV Airports operates 15 airports in 8 countries, including Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan and other. Almaty International Airport is a part of Airport International Council (ACI) of Europe. The participation in exhibition opens the opportunity of ranging the transit attractiveness of Almaty. ACI noted the efforts Aviation Administration together with the industry make last several years and showed willingness to assist in further development of airport industry in Kazakhstan.
