The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan held the first cybersecurity workshop for the aviation industry and gathered over 20 participants from 16 civil aviation organizations of Kazakhstan.
The event aimed to raise awareness and deepen the knowledge of industry specialists in the field of preventing cyber threats and managing cyber incidents. Furthermore, event in an interactive format covered various approaches and methods of audience engagement, including practical tasks and exercises on responding to cyber incidents, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to strengthening cybersecurity.
Key issues related to raising awareness of cybersecurity in civil aviation, forming an understanding of cyber threats and risks for the industry, presenting the procedure for implementing ICAO provisions and methodological materials, as well as national legislation in the field of aviation cybersecurity were considered.
In addition, the seminar participants considered issues of promoting the development of international cooperation mechanisms and information exchange between states and stakeholders, studying and practicing methods for preventing and promptly responding to cyber incidents and attacks from external and internal threats, as well as the specifics and nuances of conducting audits on information security, including ICAO.
The seminar included panel presentations involving leading global vendors in the field of information security. Such companies as TLab, Check Point, Eset, Well done, Fidelis and Tenable presented their latest solutions and data.
