09/12/2021

JSC "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" conducted the coordinated search and rescue exercise for an aircraft crew conditionally in distress in the Mangistau Search and Rescue area.

Specialists of the Search and Rescue Coordination Center and the Aktau branch of the Kazaeronavigation RSE, the Aktau airfield rescue team, the crew of the Eurocopter-145 helicopter and representatives of Kazaviaspas JSC, as well as the staff of the Dala Air helicopter Bo-105 in settlement of Beineu took part in the exercises.

According to the scenario, during the day, the aircraft marker on the Atyrau - Aktau route disappeared from the air traffic monitors, and the crew did not respond to calls from air traffic controllers via the available communication means. The traffic controllers of the ATS service notified the search and rescue coordination centre, which determined the necessary forces and means (Eurocopter-145 and Bo-105) and the place of the proposed search. A Kazaviaspas JSC helicopter on duty with an emergency rescue team was taken off the Aktau airport, and a Bo105 helicopter was on standby. After entering the search area, the crew used the tacking technique to detect the location of the alleged event. Through the collaborative work of all the interacting parties, the location was quickly discovered, and the "conditionally injured passenger" was taken by helicopter to Aktau airfield for further transportation to medical institutions of the city.

According to the exercise results, briefings were held with specialists of the participating services.
