ATR and Kazakhstan Discuss Regional Fleet Renewal

In Paris, France, on the sidelines of the ICAO EUR/NAT Directors General Meeting of Civil Aviation, Saltanat Tompiyeva, Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with Jérôme Gaborie, Vice President of Sales for Europe and Central Asia at ATR.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in renewing Kazakhstan’s regional aircraft fleet, including the potential supply of modern ATR turboprop aircraft, as well as issues related to maintenance, personnel training, and the localization of support services. SCAT Airlines is considering the acquisition of these aircraft to operate flights to three new airports currently under construction: Zaysan, Katon-Karagay, and Kendirli.

Special attention was given to sustainable development and the adoption of innovative technologies aimed at improving fuel efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed mutual interest in continuing the dialogue and fostering a partnership to support the modernization of Kazakhstan's civil aviation sector.
