05/05/2026

The industry event “AVIATION CAREER & PARTNERSHIP DAY – 2026” was held in Almaty, focusing on career development, education, and international cooperation in civil aviation. The aim of the event was to strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and the aviation industry, support graduate employment, and enhance international cooperation in aviation workforce training.

The event featured exhibition stands from aviation companies, rapid job interviews for students and graduates, as well as thematic sessions involving representatives of government bodies, international organizations, and leading universities.

During the plenary session titled “The Workforce for the Future of Aviation: Education, Industry, International Partnership,” participants discussed the training of the next generation of aviation professionals and the adaptation of educational programs to the evolving needs of the aviation industry.

A report on “ICAO: Standards, Safety, and the Future of Aviation” was delivered online by the ICAO Global Ambassador and Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, Saltanat Tompiyeva. She highlighted the significance of the event, which brought together education, the aviation industry, and international cooperation.

“Aviation requires not only specialists in traditional fields, but also professionals in related areas such as medicine, meteorology, engineering, biology, cybersecurity, and others. Therefore, it is important to develop collaboration with leading universities in the country, combining their expertise with the real needs of the industry,” said Tompiyeva, emphasizing the importance of student–employer engagement and international partnerships, including cooperation of the Civil Aviation Academy with Kent State University, in developing modern educational programs.

Special attention was also given to network-based aviation training involving leading Kazakhstani universities, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Energo University (Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev), and Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and others. An MBA/EMBA program in aviation management was also presented, aimed at developing managerial competencies in the sector.

The social and humanitarian segment of the event included the “Girls in Aviation Day” initiative, aimed at promoting the role of women in aviation and developing leadership and professional potential.

“AVIATION CAREER & PARTNERSHIP DAY – 2026” served as an important platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the formation of a skilled civil aviation workforce in Kazakhstan in line with international standards and best practices.
