Air Service Launched Between the Capitals of Kazakhstan and Mongolia

03/06/2026

The Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues its efforts to expand the geography of international air services and increase flight frequencies on existing routes.

As part of these efforts, SCAT Airlines launched a new air service on the Astana–Ulaanbaatar route on June 2, 2026. The flights operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

In addition, Mongolian carrier Hunnu Air currently operates regular flights between Almaty and Ulaanbaatar three times a week. Beginning June 6, 2026, the frequency on this route will increase to four flights per week. As a result, the total number of flights between Kazakhstan and Mongolia will increase to six per week across two air routes.

The launch of direct air services between Astana and Ulaanbaatar is expected to further strengthen trade, economic, investment, business, and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
