AAK experts held a working meeting with representatives of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in regards of joining the EU Ramp Inspection Programme – Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA)

In Cologne, Germany, EASA experts together with AAK specialists from the departments of airworthiness, flight operations, international relations and safety intelligence division were working on the Gap analysis between Kazakhstan aviation regislation and European Commission Regulation No. 965/2012, as well as development of a Roadmap for implementation of the requirements of the EU Ramp Inspection Programme in Kazakhstan.

Currently, the European Union's Ramp Inspection Programme includes 50 EU and foreign countries. Ramp Inspection Programme (SAFA) - is the European Programme for performing ramp inspections on aircraft of foreign airlines, related with the aircraft documents and manuals, flight crew licenses, the apparent condition of the aircraft and the presence and condition of mandatory cabin safety equipment.

In case of significant non-conformities, the operator and the appropriate Aviation Authority (State of Operator or State of Registry) are contacted in order to request corrections and corrective actions to be taken not only with regard to the aircraft inspected, but also with regard to other aircraft which could be concerned in case of the non-conformities. All data from SAFA inspections are shared and centralized in database, set up and managed by EASA.
