Baku hosted a regional seminar on aviation security and risk assessment, organized jointly with the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission and the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), which is the executive body of the CASE II project.
The seminar was attended by civil aviation specialists from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Iran, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkey.
The delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sarsen Zharylgasov.
The main purpose of the seminar is to bring together representatives of regulatory authorities and stakeholders to understand various threats to the aviation industry, develop effective methods for analyzing their impact, as well as to develop a coordinated approach to risk assessment and the introduction of effective mitigation tools.
The workshop provided participants with the opportunity to study in detail the relationship between threat, vulnerability and risk, as well as assess their impact on the activities of airlines and airports.
The seminar program included 6 sessions focused on discussing current and emerging threats to civil aviation, risk assessment and mitigation in the air and ground areas of the airport, as well as problems arising from the implementation of risk assessment.
Within the framework of the 5th session, the Head of the Aviation Security Training Division of the Aviation Security Department of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, Rustem Kabanbaev presented a presentation on the topic "Flights over or near conflict zones – measures applied by the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC."
During the seminar, the participating countries decided on further cooperation in the field of risk assessment of civil aviation.
