Kazakhstanis can use digital ID at Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey and Kostanay airports

Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey and Kostanay airports now offer the opportunity to present a digital ID card via eGov Mobile application for personal data confirmation. Earlier this service became available in Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktobe, Shymkent, Turkestan Aktau, Atyrau, Taraz, Petropavlovsk and Karaganda.


To use digital ID at the airport, a user authorized in eGov mobile, needs to enter the "Digital Documents" service and select an ID from the list. At the airport check-in desk, as well as at the pre-flight security check, it is necessary to show the smartphone screen with the QR code generated by the service.


The opportunity to use digital identity card on domestic flights appeared in Kazakhstan through a joint effort to integrate the systems of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, the Committee of Civil Aviation, JSC "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan", airlines and airports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and JSC "National Information Technology".


Digital document service operates in a pilot mode, and flights using digital documents are only available between the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktobe, Shymkent, Turkestan Aktau, Atyrau, Taraz, Petropavlovsk, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey and Kostanai. Passengers who plan to use the service at the above-mentioned airports are advised to bring their original ID card as well for the duration of the pilot project.
