23/09/2021

Turkestan Airport now offers the opportunity to present a digital ID card through the e-Gov Mobile application to confirm personal data. Earlier such service became available in Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktobe and Shymkent airports.

In order to use digital identity card at the airport, a user authorized in e-Gov mobile system shall enter “Digital Documents” service and select an identity card from the list. At the airport check-in desk, as well as at the pre-flight security check, it is necessary to show the smartphone screen with the QR code generated by the service.

The opportunity to use digital identity card on domestic flights appeared in Kazakhstan due to the joint efforts to integrate the systems of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry,  Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC, airlines and airports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and  National Information Technology JSC.

The digital document service is in a pilot mode, and flights using digital documents are only available between the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktobe, Shymkent and Turkestan. Passengers planning to use the service at the above-mentioned airports are advised to bring their original ID card as well during the pilot project.
