It is now possible to present a digital ID card through the eGov Mobile application to confirm personal data at Karaganda airport. Earlier this service was available in Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktobe, Shymkent, Turkestan Aktau, Atyrau, Taraz and Petropavlovsk airports.
To use digital ID at the airport, a user authorised in eGov mobile needs to enter the "Digital Documents" service and select an ID from the list. At the airport check-in desk as well as at the pre-flight security check, it is necessary to show the smartphone screen with the QR code generated by the service.
The opportunity to use digital identity card on domestic flights appeared in Kazakhstan due to the joint efforts to integrate the systems of the Civil Aviation Committee, Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC, airlines and airports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and National Information Technology JSC.
The digital document service is in a pilot mode, and flights using digital documents are only available between the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Aktobe, Shymkent, Turkestan Aktau, Atyrau, Taraz, Petropavlovsk and Karaganda. Passengers planning to use the service at the above-mentioned airports for the duration of the pilot project are advised to bring their original ID card as well
