Peter Griffiths: Losses of the airline industry reached 300 billion tenge, but carriers agreed to keep prices

07/05/2020

The head of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan told why the risk of contracting coronavirus on an airplane is low.

From May 1, flights between Nur-Sultan and Almaty have been resumed. From May 4, aircraft again began flying from these cities to Kyzylorda, Petropavlovsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey. The main conditions were: passengers must pass PCR tests for coronavirus, airlines must seat people in a checkerboard pattern.

The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan advocated the abolition of the seating of passengers "through one", and suggested replacing the PCR with cheaper express tests. The Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan from May 7 allowed to fill the planes by 100%.
