In accordance with the National project "Strong regions - the driver of the country's development", the reconstruction of the air terminal complex of the airport in Uralsk was completed. The opening ceremony of the new terminal was attended by Akim of the West Kazakhstan region Gali Iskaliev and Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliev.

The share of Kazakhstan's participation in construction is 60%. Thus, during the construction of the airport, glass, ceramic tiles, sanitary ware and other materials of domestic production were used. The international airport terminal was built by regional construction companies. The area of the terminal is 10 thousand square meters, the average passenger flow reaches 600 thousand people a year. The new airport terminal complies with all international IATA (International Air Transport Association) standards. “The modern infrastructure of the airport will contribute to its inclusion in the “open skies” mode and will attract foreign airlines.

We expect that the new airport will become a powerful impetus for increasing passenger traffic, opening new international routes, developing tourism in the region, as well as increasing air travel,” said B. Kamaliev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It should be noted that in March of this year, by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Uralsk airport was named after Manshuk Mametova, a heroine-gunner who was born in the West Kazakhstan region.
