Transfer of expertise from EASA for an enhanced oversight of aerodroms in Kazakhstan

From April 23 to April 25, 2024, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC held a three-day seminar, during which specialists from the Aerodromes Department of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) shared their experience and presented to employees of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan the requirements of the legislation of the European Union on the certification and oversight system for ensuring flight safety by airport operators. This workshop was held within the framework of a trilateral agreement signed with EASA in the field of aviation safety.

During the seminar, issues of certification specifications, the certification basis of aerodromes, requirements for the aerodromes management, the formation and implementation of the supervision program, improving its effectiveness, certification, audits and inspections of aerodromes, requirements for training and advanced training of aviation inspectors were discussed. In addition, the procedures and requirements for the control and monitoring of the construction of facilities and activities in the aerodromes area in European countries were considered. The issues of harmonization of Kazakhstan's legislation in the field of flight safety with EU legislation and how this can contribute to improving flight safety and improving the effectiveness of regulation in civil aviation in Kazakhstan were discussed.
