Rules of transportation of pregnant women

30/11/2021

Due to the public interest in the rules of servicing pregnant women, JSC "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" covers this topic and publishes general recommendations for this category of passengers.

Pregnant women are accepted by the airline for carriage by air, provided that the pregnancy period is up to 34 weeks for a single pregnancy, and for a multiple pregnancy-no more than 32 weeks, subject to a satisfactory state of health, which must be confirmed by a certificate from a medical organization about the period of pregnancy and the state of health provided to the airline after 22 weeks of pregnancy, which are calculated according to the expected date of delivery.

Pregnant women whose pregnancy period exceeds 34 weeks in case of a single pregnancy, and in case of multiple pregnancy-no more than 32 weeks, provide a conclusion of the medical advisory commission, form No. 026/y on their health status, which is allowed from the registration of a medical organization no earlier than 30 calendar days before the start of transportation.

The airline refuses to transport pregnant women even if there is a conclusion of the medical advisory commission if the due date of delivery is expected in the next 7 calendar days.

Postpartum mothers and newborns are not allowed to be transported during the first 7 calendar days after the birth of the child.

If the pregnancy exceeds the period of 22 weeks, you should inform the airline about your situation and condition no later than 5 calendar days before the start of the flight. After receiving the specified information, the airline informs the passenger within 24 hours about the refusal of transportation, if it is not possible to ensure the performance of transportation.
