Resumption of flights to China

28/06/2022

As part of the work on the further resumption and opening of international communication and lifting the restrictive measures in the world, the Civil Aviation Committee of MIID RK together with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the People's Republic of China worked out the issue of resumption of regular passenger flights between Kazakhstan and China.

So, for the first time since 2020, the Kazakh airline "Air Astana", starting from 1 July this year resumes regular passenger flights on the route Almaty - Chengdu with the frequency of one flight a week on Fridays. Also, an additional flight on Fridays will be added from July 7 this year. The flights will be operated using Boeing-767 and A321 NEO type aircraft.

In turn, on the PRC side, the Chinese airline company China Southern Airlines plans to resume regular passenger flights between Almaty and Urumqi with a frequency of 1 flight per week on Fridays starting from July 1 this year. The flights will be operated using Boeing-737 and Boeing-787 aircrafts.

The resumption of air communication between Kazakhstan and China will accelerate the development of trade-economic, investment, tourism and cultural cooperation between the two friendly countries, as well as contribute to the full use of the planned introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime for citizens of China.

It should be noted that the flights will be operated in strict compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological requirements and the schedule published on the website of the airlines.

Tickets are available on the airlines' official websites.
