Regional Seminar on the Global Reporting Format for runway surface conditions – ICAO GRF will be held in Kazakhstan

On November 28-29 in Almaty, experts from the International Civil Aviation Organization, the International Air Transport Association, the US Federal Aviation Administration, manufacturer of equipment and software for assessing the condition of the runway Moventor Oy will take part in the Regional Seminar on the Global Reporting Format for runway surface conditions – GRF of ICAO.

The seminar will discuss issues of reducing the risks of runway excursions, experience in the implementation and application of GRF.

The speakers of the Regional Seminar will be Director General of Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan Catalin Radu, Regional Meteorology Specialist of ICAO Christopher Keohane, Assistant Director for Infrastructure of ATM IATA Dmitry Kosolapov, General Director of Moventor Oy Mikko Kallio and others.

Representatives of the US Federal Aviation Administration Chad McCormack and Andrew Edstorm will make presentations on the take-off and landing Performance Assessment System (TALPA) and the Runway Condition Assessment Matrix (RCAM) used in US civil aviation since 2016.

Restrictions in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on the training of aviation personnel during the implementation of GRF. IATA expert Dmitry Kosolapov will talk about the modern approach in the training of aviation personnel, in particular in the training of airport specialists, air navigation, pilots in the GRF format.
