On September 5-6, a seminar on the theme «The role of civil aviation in the field of detecting and responding to human trafficking» was held in Almaty. The seminar was coordinated by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, with the assistance of the Civil Aviation Committee. It was attended by Director of the Aviation Security Department of JSC «Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan» Darkhan Katyshev and senior aviation inspector Ardak Bedelbaev, as well as representatives of domestic airlines, airports and aviation training centers.

Were discussed the issues of aviation profiling, the identification by aviation personnel of victims of human trafficking in flight and on the ground, according to external characteristics and assessment of human behavior (verbal and non-verbal human behavior). According to the results of the seminar, the participants were awarded the appropriate certificates.

In most cases, human trafficking victims transportation is carried out by air, in this regard, the role of aviation personnel in identifying and preventing such facts doubles.
