Kazakhstan’s delegation continues its work at the 40th ICAO Assembly

The ICAO Assembly’s Session is held from September 24 to October 4, 2019, in Montreal, Canada, at the ICAO Headquarters. The ICAO Assembly is a sovereign body and is convened at least once every three years by the ICAO Council to discuss and make decisions on the most significant challenges facing the world civil aviation.


The representative of Kazakhstan at the Assembly, Director of the Aviation Security department of "Aviation administration of Kazakhstan" JSC Darkhan Katyshev presented a report "The role of the ICAO Regional Office in the development of cooperation between countries in the field of aviation security".


In his report the issues of effective cooperation, coordination and exchange of information between countries of the European and North Atlantic region are raised. Establishment of a communications platform based at the ICAO Office in Paris to support all states in the region in the implementation of relevant ICAO standards and Assembly resolutions on aviation security. The report of the Republic of Kazakhstan is supported by the Russian Federation and several other countries.


Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Assembly noted the importance of the work of ICAO Regional Office in coordinating and supporting States in the implementation of the ICAO requirement to ensure aviation security, and also highly appreciated the relevance of the issues raised in the report of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
