AAK is currently in contact with operators of this type of aircraft in Kazakhstan, as well as Boeing and the FAA to assess the need for further action.
There are 5 Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft registered in Kazakhstan, and all of them have valid airworthiness certificates.
The FAA issued an emergency airworthiness directive (2024-02-51). The airworthiness directive automatically applies to all B-737 MAX operators. This AD applies to The Boeing Company Model 737-9 airplanes, certificated in any category, with a mid cabin door plug installed. At the moment, operators of the Republic of Kazakhstan operate aircraft with emergency exit doors (not door plug), accordingly, the directive is not applicable to these aircraft.
