Lastayev Talgat, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with Mr. Mohamed Faleh Al-Hajri, President of the Aviation Authorities of the State of Qatar, and Mr. Abdulaziz Sultan Al-Rumeikhi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral civil aviation cooperation issues such as increasing the number of flights and expanding the geography of flights between Kazakhstan and Qatar, training and advanced training of aviation specialists, and attracting Qatari investments to Kazakhstan.
So far, Qatar Airways operates regular passenger flights on the Doha-Almaty route with a frequency of four flights per week. According to the Qatari side, Qatar Airways intends to begin operating flights between Nur Sultan and Doha in the spring and summer of 2023.
The parties also discussed and agreed on the training and advanced training of representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan's civil aviation industry. Simultaneously, the parties discussed the upcoming 41st Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which will be held from September 27 to October 7 this year.
