The European Commission acknowledges the efforts of Kazakhstan to reform the civil aviation industry

A working meeting was held to discuss the open safety issues and was attended by the Kazakh delegation headed by the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the MIID of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastaev, Adviser to the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Azat Bekturov, Director General of  "Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan" JSC Catalin Radu, employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Belgium with the delegation of the European Commission headed by the Chairman of the Committee on Flight Safety Peter Bombay. The meeting was also attended by representatives of EASA, the Irish Aviation Authorities.


The EU representatives noted the involvement of the Kazakhstan Government in the development of the civil aviation industry. The European Commission also acknowledged the efforts made by the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan to reform the civil aviation industry, and achieved in this regard the level of compliance with ICAO standards (84%) in the year 2021.


At the same time, the parties discussed a number of technical issues that need to be implemented for the further implementation of European safety standards.


For these purposes, the CAC and the AAK are currently working on amendments to the current legislation in the field of air transport.


At the same time, within the framework of the technical meeting, the work is being carried out to confirm the implementation of the Corrective Action Plan, following the technical visit of the European Commission to Kazakhstan in October 2021.


This visit precedes the future meeting of the European Commission's Flight Safety Committee that will take place in May 2022.
