Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev held a meeting with the President of Almaty International Airport, Alp Er Tunga Ersoy.
During the meeting, the airport's management reported on the progress of the large-scale project to build a new international terminal at Almaty International Airport.
The meeting participants discussed the key aspects of work on the airport's future development in terms of the main activities and stages of project implementation.
There is a positive dynamic of airport development and passenger traffic growth (the airport passed 7 million served passengers in 2022).
It is worth noting that the project is still being carried out by the approved schedule and is under the control of the Head of State. The project is expected to be completed in the first half of 2024. The construction of a new terminal is expected to increase passenger traffic significantly, expand flight geography, and provide residents and visitors with a high level of comfort.
The Minister directed that all necessary steps be taken to improve airport services and facilities, as well as to respond to passenger complaints as soon as possible. The parties agreed to make every effort to develop Almaty Airport further.
