To date, work has been completed to eliminate the comments of the ICAO audit conducted in 2017 on aviation security. In accordance with the corrective action plan agreed with ICAO, all discrepancies have been eliminated to date.

Based on the results of the review conducted in November last year, experts from the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) noted the high level of aviation security in the country and gave a positive assessment of the ongoing measures to protect civil aviation from acts of unlawful interference.

In 2021, during the screening procedures, airports detected 19,054 items of prohibited items, including 76 kg of substances of unknown composition, 2,850 items of flammable liquid, 12,341 items of weapons, ammunition, piercing and cutting items, 3,863 items of other types of prohibited items.

The Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan carried out 84 verification activities in terms of control and supervision, considered 2124 applications for the issuance of crew member certificates, issued 4 certificates for the organization of screening of airport security systems.

Aviation inspectors took part online in the annual ICAO Global Aviation Security Symposium (AVSEC-2021).

Kazakhstan continues to expand and strengthen cooperation in the field of aviation security. As part of the exchange of experience, employees of domestic airports and airlines got acquainted with the organization and procedures for ensuring aviation security in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan

As part of the transport week, the EAEU hosted a plenary meeting on aviation security, where the conference participants agreed to strengthen and develop cooperation between the EAEU countries on aviation security.

The traditional annual meeting of summarizing the results of 2021 on aviation security and encouraging distinguished employees of the civil aviation aviation industry is planned for March 1, 2022 at the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan JSC.
