Concerning statements made by the capital’s airport and SCAT airline regarding the shortage of aviation fuel

The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan informs of the below concerning statements made by the capital's airport and SCAT airline regarding the shortage of aviation fuel.

Due to repair works at Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PPCP), there are particular difficulties in domestic aviation fuel production and supply of aviation fuel for airports and airlines.


However, constant refuelling of scheduled passenger and cargo flights has been ensured. The MIID, together with the Ministry of Energy, elaborated a schedule of aviation fuel supply to airlines and airports from plants, private companies, KazMunaiGaz - Aero LLP until the resumption of PPCP's operations on November 9 this year.


Currently, the remainder of aviation fuel at the airports is 27.9 thousand tons, 9.2 thousand tons have been shipped from the plants and are on the way,t, and 15.6 thousand tons of aviation fuel have been contracted. The total volume is 53 thousand tons.


By the end of October, the oil refinery will produce 2 thousand tons of aviation fuel, of which an additional volume will be allocated for the Nur-Sultan airport. An additional supply of aviation fuel from the Shymkent Oil refinery to SCAT Airlines is also planned.


In the capital airport, the remainder of aviation fuel is 3.1 thousand tons. The delivery of 3.9 thousand tons (3 thousand tons - KazMunaiGaz-Aero LLP, 0.7 thousand tons - Petrosan LLP, 0.2 thousand tons - East fuel) is expected in the following days. At Almaty airport, the remainder is 5.4 thousand tons, 4 thousand tons are on the way, and 5.8 thousand tons have been contracted.


Air Astana's airlines have 7.4 thousand tons of remainder, SKAT - 1.7 thousand tons, 1.5 thousand tons have been contracted.


Suspension of scheduled flights is not expected.
