A training event on the course “Assessment of Security Systems and Measures” was held in Almaty. The seminar, organized by the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan under the “Export Control and Border Security” (EXBS) program and with the support of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), took place at the training center of the Border Academy of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Participants included aviation security experts from the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan, the airports of Astana and Almaty, as well as representatives from Egypt’s aviation authorities and the airline EgyptAir.
The course aimed to provide participants with a deep understanding of risk management processes in the aviation industry, incident analysis and prevention techniques, and the skills to develop and implement safety improvement programs in line with industry standards and TSA experts’ best practices for testing aviation security systems.
International experts shared practical experiences, successful case studies, and innovative methods, including the use of AI for risk prediction and management.
The exchange of knowledge and experience will enable Kazakhstan’s experts to incorporate aviation security requirements into national legislation and existing airport processes as they prepare for the TSA aviation security audit and the launch of direct flights between Kazakhstan and the United States.
