Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan held a discussion with aviation organizations regarding measures to restore the aviation industry.

Representatives of airports, domestic and foreign airlines took part in this online discussion. The purpose of the webinar was to receive the feedback from the aviation industry on the effectiveness of control measures and their improvements that need to be taken.

Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan suggests to re-consider the requirement of Chief Medical Officer for Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan to have the COVID-19 test results for airport and airline employees. Employees will pass a pre-shift inspection by checking the body temperature. It is also suggested to cancel the COVID-19 test for passengers. At the entrance to the airports the special posts will be arranged for temperature check and express tests if a body temperature is above normal.

In addition, it is proposed to cancel the survey of passengers and crew members, which may lead to falsification of information and inaccuracy of data. AAK considers it is sufficient to have passenger data based on passenger manifest and passenger booking data, and the crew information based on operational flight plan.

The cancellation of the physical distance on board was discussed for the following reasons: calculation of an aircraft balance diagram affecting flight safety and the economics (free seats of the half of an airplane).

AAK suggests complying with 100% mask mode from the point of departure to the point of arrival, even during the flight.

It is also proposed to cancel onboard food in disposable dishes, while leaving the provision of only light food: water and snacks. Light meals should be available on the passenger seats in advance. They also discussed measures to limit the number of people in the passenger terminal (passengers only), allocation of slots to avoid congestion of passengers during rush hours, starting check-in on domestic flights 2 hours before, on international flights 3.5 hours before departure time, closing check-in 50 minutes before departure time, informing about available online check-in and mobile boarding pass to minimize contact with airline and airport staff.
