Second International Congress "Actual problems of aviation medicine", organized by the Association of Aviation Medicine (AWAM) in Moscow welcomed more than 250 representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Federal Air Transport Agency, the Association of the US Aviation and Space Medicine (AsMA), President of the Trade Union of Russian flight crews, air traffic controllers' union of Russia and representatives of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan. At the first section, there were representatives of the EU and Russian experts - medical-flight experts of the Central Commission, "Aeroflot" air company, the Central Clinical Hospital of Civil Aviation, who reported on medical flight operations, management of medical risks and safety. The second section was dedicated to the health of passengers and it discussed the problems of providing in flight medical assistance to passengers at the airport and on board. Also there was the meeting of the working group on the issues of medical and sanitary-epidemiological support of civil aviation flights of the CIS Executive Committee. The discussion was focused on such matters as medical examination of candidates who apply to get or renew a license of civil aviation personnel, medical support for air carriers, and in-flight medical assistance for the passengers and the aircrew.
