In 2022, air passenger traffic increased by 15% and for the first time in the years of independence Kazakhstan will exceed 10 million passengers

To date, passenger traffic in air transport has exceeded all forecasts and is growing steadily, both in comparison to last year and in contrast to pre-pandemic 2019.

Thus, according to the results of the first 11 months of 2022, the number of passengers transported by Kazakh airlines increased by 15% over the same period in 2021, totaling 9.9 million people (2021 – 8.6 million people; 2020 – 5.0 million people).

According to preliminary data, approximately 10.8 million passengers are expected in 2022. The growth rate with the indicator value of 2021 (9.4 million people) is 15%.

Passenger traffic will exceed 10 million for the first time in Kazakhstan's independence years.

Domestic airlines transported 7 million passengers on domestic lines between January and November 2022 (compared to 6.9 million in 2021 and 4.1 million in 2020), while international airlines transported 2.9 million passengers (in 2021 – 1.7 million, in 2020 – 0.9 million).

The passenger traffic of "Air Astana" was approximately 3.7 million, "FlyArystan" was about 3.0 million, "SCAT" was about 2.7 million, and "Qazaq air" was about 0.5 million.
