1ST Meeting of the Eurasian Civil Aviation Conference (EACAC)

01/11/2024

On November 5, 2024, the 1ST meeting of the aviation authorities of the Member States of the Eurasian Civil Aviation Conference (EACAC) will take place in Almaty.

The initiative on establishment of the Eurasian Civil Aviation Conference (EACAC) was first announced in May 2023 within the 1st Kazakhstan Aviation Dialogue: “Energy Transition for Sustainable Development and Transit Implementation in Central Asia”. In April 2024, in Toulouse (France), the EACAC project was presented during a meeting of the Directors General of Civil Aviation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) European and North Atlantic Bureau of ICAO (EURNAT-DGCA).

Membership is open to States located in the Eurasian region.

EACAC aims to facilitate effective cooperation among the aviation authorities of its Member States through the exchange of experience, knowledge, and best practices in areas such as flight safety, aviation security, facilitation and procedures, sustainable development, development of unmanned aviation systems, and aviation personnel training. Additionally, EACAC will become a platform for interactions in preparation for future challenges.

It should be noted that the first ECAC meeting will take place on the sidelines of ICAO Week, which will be held for the first time in Kazakhstan, in Almaty, from November 4 to 8, 2024. Within the framework of the event, with the participation of the International Civil Aviation Organization, two major events will also be held: Regional Awareness Seminar on Risk Assessment Processes and on Doc 10084: Risk Assessment Manual for Civil Aircraft Operations Over or Near Conflict Zones, held in collaboration with the Safe Skies Consultative Committee (SSCC), as well as the Regional Seminar “Green Airports”, jointly organized with ACI Europe, which will provide an opportunity to discuss key areas related to the development of low-carbon airports, with a particular focus on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and the use of other environmentally friendly energy sources.
