ATN: You’ve been recently appointed Director General of Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan. How do you find it compared with your expectations?

CR: AAK is a young organization, based on the British and European model and established three years ago as the only independent agency in charge of technical control and oversight over the safety and security of civil aviation. What is interesting about the AAK is the fact that despite being a governmental Agency, the leadership of the company was always composed by internationally recruited experts, allowing the Operational independence and a strict line between the political and technical levels.
